# Cartable

> Cartable scores how ready a Shopify store is for AI shopping agents: whether they can find products, read price and policies, and add an item to cart.

Cartable is a free audit at https://getcartable.com/. It is not a certification and it does not rank stores against each other.

## Audit

- Submit a store from the homepage, or call `GET https://getcartable.com/api/audit?url=store.com`
- The response is JSON: `score` (0–100), `shopify` (boolean), `host`, `pdp` (sample product URL or null), `checks` (all 13), `fixes` (checks that are not a full pass, highest points first)
- Each check has `id`, `name`, `weight`, `frac` (0–1), `detail`, and sometimes `fix` and `snippet`
- The audit makes about 13 polite requests plus, when the store allows it, one session add-to-cart. It never checks out and never edits the theme
- Same-URL responses may be cached at the edge for about an hour
- Rate limit: 6 audits per 10 minutes per IP, best-effort per server instance
- Errors return JSON `{"error": "..."}`: HTTP 400 for a missing, invalid, or non-public URL, HTTP 429 when rate limited
- An audit takes about 10 to 15 seconds; allow up to 60 seconds before timing out

## Pricing

- Free audit: $0. Score, all checks, generic snippets
- Fix Pack: $49 once. Liquid snippets for that store, product and return/shipping schema, Open Graph price tags, Organization and WebSite schema, a custom llms.txt with test products filtered, and a step-by-step install PDF. Checkout is not open yet
- Monitor: $19 per month. Weekly re-check of the same product, alerts if schema, robots, or cart breaks, score trend and regenerated fixes. Checkout is not open yet

## Research

On 14 October 2026, Cartable audited 52 top Shopify brands. 42 of 52 (81%) do not tell AI agents their return or shipping terms.
